Naramata Modern Project Sneak Peek

It's bittersweet when we get to this point in a project. After sometimes years of planning and design/ build time, our clients have moved into their home. While there are typically a few remaining things to complete, for the most part, the project is coming to an end. The hard work is done, clients are settling in and our hopes is to photograph as much of each project as possible.

Photographing a completed project is one of the most rewarding parts of our job. It is however, an incredible amount of work, yet so, so worth it. We are grateful when our clients allow us to invade their space, typically for an entire day, creating disarray room by room. The behind the scenes of a photoshoot is a process filled with, technical equipment, lighting, styling, affects of sunlight and the essence of capturing the perfect shot.

Last week we had the great pleasure of working with photographer Ema Peter, alongside Sturgess Architecture at our Naramata Modern project. There was an instant connection among us and as photos started to be taken we were all so aligned in our approach to each shot. It was a smooth, collaborative and incredibly fun day. I had to leave the photoshoot early while Jackie stayed, but from what I've seen so far the photos are epic and I can't wait to see the magic Ema has created with her insane talent.

Below are a few sneak peek shots I took waaaaaaaay back at our installation in December.

Situated in BC wine country, built on the side of a mountain, cantilevered over a ravine with views of Lake Okanagan, this residence is a statement of impressive architecture. This home will be Part of a Rizzoli book on exceptional homes near vineyards! I'm not sure when it will hit shelves but, gah! I can't to see these images. From what I saw during the shoot, they were already blowing my mind. From an interior design perspective, this home is full of colour, pattern, texture, incredible art and an overall unexpected feel. The architecture of Sturgess is without a doubt inspiring and captivating. We had an amazing structure to work with which allowed us to push our creative boundaries. And let's not forget the team at Ritchie Construction who embraced this home and knocked the build right out of the park. From architect to builder, designer to photographer this was the ultimate dream team. We can't wait to share more!
